So I decided to drop by the new Lidl grocery that is near work.  Have heard of the brand and mostly good stuff about them so I figured I’d give them a shot.  It was a mixed bag. 

It’s basically setup like Trader Joes and Aldi had a baby.  The mostly off-brand and aisle setup of Aldi with a larger selection of fruit and baked goods that reminded me of Trader Joes or Wegmans.

The problem is that the selection is pretty limited and since it’s mostly generic, it’s hard to say if it’s good or not.  Given the prices, with rare exception, even on the generic or house-brand, are not much different than other brands elsewhere, I’m not sure why I’d ever go back.

There wasn’t even any free totes or anything to hype the opening.
