Last week was an odd one as I went up to NYC for a summit regarding AI and digital innovation. I realized I hadn’t been to the memorial so on the day I went up I had some extra time and decided to walk around the city. Continue reading New York City?

Video Calling
Back in the good old days, when home phones were still a thing, the future of communication was video conferencing. We’d mastered being able to talk to each other over a distance, so obviously the next big thing would be to see each other when we talked, right? Well, a funny thing happened. Wheelhouse
Yesterday I had the pleasure of be part of a panel for presentations from our entrepreneurship class. The projects and ideas were varied, although they did revolve around game design in some fashion. From board games to serious games, there was a bit of a good mix. I feel a little bad as I had a decent familiarity with the majority of genres and markets so my questions might have been pointed. Luckily most of them were thankful for the thoughts and direction afterwards. It’s just nice to see people doing more with an idea than just having it.
Back and Forth
Man, somehow this week and last has been a bevy of back and forth meetings around and about the DMV. From Arlington to D.C., both in and outside the beltway, I’ve been driving or riding along on trips to see potential partners. I do have to say, it’s been mitigated somewhat by being able to be passenger on most of these drives, but it does break up the day as everything is opposite of my normal commute so it leaves me usually stuck back in Fairfax working from the shared adjunct space instead of my normally cushy office. I can’t complain too much as the partners could be good for the program and school so hopefully they pan out. One thing it has cemented is that I’d never be able to handle a job that required me to drive inside the beltway everyday.
